Liz Brasher

Memphis-based rocker Liz Brasher is set to release her EP “Outcast” (Fat Possum) on Friday, the day of her Double Decker performance. The album was produced in Memphis by Scott Bomar (The Bo-Keys). NPR’s “All Songs Considered” said, “A Memphian of Dominican descent who grew up singing in Spanish in the church, Brasher synthesizes the sounds of ‘60s garage, girl-group sounds, dirty blues, holy roller church music and Bob Dylan into something completely her own.”

Aminatta Forna

Aminatta Forna’s latest novel is “Happiness” (Atlantic Monthly Press) the story of a search for a missing boy in contemporary London. It’s a powerful look at new and lost loves and of the hidden side of a multicultural metropolis. Her previous books include the novels, “The Hired Man,” “The Memory of Love” and “Ancestor Stones,” and a memoir, “The Devil that Danced on the Water.” Forna’s books have been translated into 18 languages.
Forna was born in Scotland, raised in Sierra Leone and Great Britain and spent periods of her childhood in Iran, Thailand and Zambia.  She is currently Lannan Visiting Chair of Poetics at Georgetown University and Professor of Creative Writing at Bath Spa University in Bath, England.

The Delta Saints

The Delta Saints are Ben Ringel on vocals/guitar, Dylan Fitch on guitar, David Supica on bass, Vincent “Footz” Williams on drums and Nate Kremer on keyboards. The California band, now based in Nashville, crafts “raw and visceral rock music with psychedelic flares, fuzzed-out guitar riffs, arresting drum patterns and blues tendencies.” Their latest full-length LP is “Monte Visto.” Their previous albums include “Bones,” “Live at Exit/In and “Death Letter Jubilee.” The band will embark on a major European tour this summer.
