The End of All Music Celebrates Record Store Day on the Square
David Swider, owner of The End of All Music, has an “exclusive” day planned for his customers this Saturday as part of Record Store Day (RSD).
The End of All Music will be offering all sorts of entertainment, including exclusive albums, free tote bags and goodies (to the first guests), a raffle and a free tickets give-away for the RSD After-Party at Proud Larry’s starting at 9 p.m.
“It’s easily our busiest single day of the year,” Swider said.
The exclusive records are pressed and sold only at independent record stores that participate in the event, and they are only available for purchase on the day of the event.
Created for those who make up the “record store world,” Record Store Day celebrates the unique culture a record store has to offer as well as the special role these stores play in their communities. In fact, special vinyl and CD releases as well as other promotional items are made exclusively for that day.
These titles are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and only one copy per title per customer. The album track lists are posted at least a week in advance on the Record Store Day website so that music lovers know what to get before they set foot in the store.
For Swider, the event not only celebrates independent record stores and their importance to their communities, but it celebrates a physical music media.
“It’s a really great day to thank all of our customers and get everyone together at one time to party,” Swider said. “It’s proof that folks still love going to their local record store, and that’s something no online algorithm can replicate. It brings together artists, fans and friends for the sole purpose of celebrating physical media and music in general.”
Record Store Day at The End of All Music will be during normal business hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, April 21, at their new location on the Square (upstairs in the Duvall’s building). The after party will begin at 9 p.m. at Proud Larry’s. The complete list of exclusive albums being offered can be found here.
