Schedule of Events for the North Mississippi Classic
We’re only days away from the PGA’s Web.com Tour arrival at the Oxford Country Club commencing with the Pro Am on Wednesday, April 18.
The Manning Pro Am will consist of an all-day event with Archie and son, Cooper, highlighting some Ole Miss legends including football head coach Matt Luke and former football player Wesley Walls.
A team of four costs $8,500 with single spots available at $2,500. Deadline to sign up is this Friday. Everyone participating as players will be invited to the pairings party at the Manning Center on Tuesday evening (6-8 p.m.).
The actual tournament will be underway Thursday, April 19, with tee times going off as early as 6:30 a.m. Over 150 golfers will compete for the trophy and prize money with the awards ceremony scheduled for about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
For a bonus additive, Trustmark Bank will host a Junior Clinic on the driving range for children 16 and younger on Saturday, April 21. This will consist of a one-hour demonstration starting at 2 p.m. with two or three Web.com Tourplayers showing the youngsters the dos and don’ts of ball striking.
A few volunteer positions are still needed. Marshals and walking scorers can sign up for the remaining spots by going to www.northmsclassic.com. Thursday is the only day walking scorers are still needed.
The excitement is building as the PGA Tour comes to Oxford on the heels of the 82nd Masters Tournament.
