No. 3 Ole Miss baseball team travels up I-55 Wednesday to take on the Memphis Tigers at AutoZone Park. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
Ole Miss (25-4) is coming off a series win over the No.5 Arkansas Razorbacks over the weekend.
This season, the Rebels have used a balance of a high-powered offense and dominating pitching to win games. The diamond Rebels have Thomas Dillard and Cole Zabowski tied for the team lead in home runs at seven each. Dillard also leads Ole Miss in RBIs with 27.
Memphis (9-19) enters the game after a series loss to Central Florida over the weekend. The Tigers are lead at the plate by Tyler Webb who is batting at a clip of .336 and 19 runs on the year. His teammate Kyle Ouellette leads the club in RBIs at 20 and is tied with Kyle O’Keefe in home runs at three apiece.
Earlier this season, the Rebels and Tigers met on the diamond, and Ole Miss defeated Memphis by the score of 8-6 at Swayze Field. Last year, Memphis swept the Rebels in the series.
The probable pitching matchup for this midweek action will have RHP Houston Roth on the hill for the Rebels. Roth has a 3-0 record on the season with a 4.55 ERA in 31.2 innings of work. Memphis will give the ball to LHP Danny Denz who is 1-1 on the season with a 3.77 ERA.
Fans can listen to every single pitch on the Ole Miss Radio Network.
