No. 4 Ole Miss Hosts No. 14 Southern Miss at Swayze

No. 4 Ole Miss returns to the diamond of Swayze field this evening as they play host to in-state rival No. 14 Southern Miss. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
Ole Miss (22-3) remains the winningest team in college baseball this season after taking two of three games at No. 11 Texas A&M over the weekend.
The Rebels’ pitching staff currently ranks 7th nationally and first in the SEC in team ERA at 2.54. Sophomore reliever Will Ethridge was one of several key performers out of the Rebel bullpen against Texas A&M.
Senior Will Golsan was named a 2018 Senior CLASS Award Candidate last week. He backed it up with a big week on the field, including a triple against New Orleans and tremendous G3 at TAMU: 3 for 5, two 2B, two RBIs. He leads Ole Miss with 13 two-out RBIs.
Southern Miss comes into Oxford with a 17-5 record. The Golden Eagles took two of three games at Florida Atlantic over the weekend.
The Southern Miss offense has five regular starters hitting over .300, with 26 total HR on the season. They are led at the plate by third baseman Luke Reynolds with a .369 clip, six home runs and 21 RBIs on the season.
Ole Miss and Southern Miss have met on the diamond 124 times prior to tonight’s game. The Rebels lead the all-time series against USM at 74-50.
The probable pitching matchup for tonight’s game will have RHP J.C. Keys on the mound for the Golden Eagles. Keys enters with a 6.95 ERA and is 1-2 on the season. Coach Mike Bianco will give the ball to LHP Jordan Fowler. Fowler comes in with a 1.93 ERA and is 3-0 on the season.
