Serrel Smith Granted Release from Ole Miss
One of the Ole Miss Rebels basketball recruits Serrel Smith has been granted his release from intent to the university that will reopen his recruiting process.
Smith is a three-star shooting guard from Saint Petersburg, Florida. He had offers from Florida, Memphis and Texas A&M among many others. Smith signed with the Rebels in November 2017.
After Kermit Davis was announced as the head coach of the Rebels replacing the all-time winningest coach in Ole Miss history, Andy Kennedy.
“Thursday, we met with Serrel and his family and had a terrific visit,” Davis said. “While Serrel has a great affection for Ole Miss Basketball, he has requested and will be granted his release to reopen his recruitment, with Ole Miss a viable option. Serrel is a great young man with a fantastic family, and we look forward to the process.”
Smith is ranked as the No. 177 recruit in the 247Sports Composite. He is ranked No. 145 in the Top247.
