Burglary, Credit Card Fraud and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Three abusive calls to emergency service, 15 alarms, three animal complaints, two burglary, five careless driving, two civil matters, credit card fraud, seven disturbing the peace, four domestic disturbance, k-9 search, two larceny, three motor assist, five other agency assist, two public drunk, reported gunshots, scam, 15 suspicious activity, four suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, theft from motor vehicle, six welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 15 accidents, 52 tickets and made the following arrests:
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Seat Belt, Switched Tag, No Driver’s License, No Liability Insurance
DUI 3rd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
DUI 1st
Public Drunk, Trespass, Malicious Mischief
Two Warrant Served, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Tag
Three Public Drunk
Shoplifting
Possession of Schedule 1 Drug, Possession of Schedule 2 Drug, Possession of Less Than 30g of Marijuana
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Five accidents, 10 alarms, four animal complaints, 15 disturbances, grand larceny, petit larceny, three juvenile complaints, 15 service calls, five suspicious activities, four welfare concerns, information traffic complaints, seven reckless driving, civil matter.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
3/8 – 15:26 – Wendy’s – smoke inside the building – working on a/c-heat unit worker dropped something on an element
3/8 – 15:55 – 244 Old Taylor Road – workers activated a smoke detector
3/9 – 09:41 – Van Buren Condos – alarm company working on the alarm system
3/10 – 09:32 – 2 Hilltop – receptacle arching and smoking
3/10 – 10:59 – The Domain – call canceled
3/10 – 16:58 – Hwy 7 south of Hwy. 30 – extinguished a very small grass fire
3/11 – 09:39 & 10:30 – burned food activated the smoke detector
3/11 – 16:20 – The Uncommon 514 East Jackson Ave. – general alarm malfunction – employees had the alarm reset before FD arrived
University Police Department responded to the following incidents:Two motor vehicle accident, suspicious person, possession of alcohol (housing), vandalism to vehicle, four vehicle stops, possession of fake ID, possession of alcoholic beverage under 21, petit larceny, disturbance.
