No. 8 Ole Miss baseball team returns to the diamond at Swayze Field this evening as they host the Austin Peay Governors. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

Ole Miss (10-1) is coming off a successful road trip to Long Beach State after the Rebels took two of three against the defending Big West Champion and 2017 NCAA Regional host, the Dirtbags.
Junior Ryan Olenek smashed three doubles in the second game against the Dirtbags and is among the top 50 players with five doubles on the year.
Austin Peay comes into Oxford with an 8-3 record on the young season. The Governors have four everyday players that are batting above .300 and are led at the plate by Andrew Flaherty with a .389 clip. His teammate, Garrett Kueber leads the club with 13 RBIs this season.
In all three losses, Austin Peay has given up double-figure runs this year including a 19-6 decision at the Rebels’ SEC foe, Vanderbilt.
Ole Miss is nearly perfect at 17-2 all time against Austin Peay, and the Rebels are a perfect 10-0 against the Governors under head coach Mike Bianco. The Rebels last met the Governors during a two-game midweek series in 2011, which Ole Miss swept by a combined score of 16-7. The series dates back to 1993 when Ole Miss topped Austin Peay 2-0 in the third game of its season.
The probable starters for this evening’s matchup will be RHP Kyle Wilson for Austin Peay. Wilson will be making his first start of the 2018 season. He has only allowed five earned runs on five hits in 3.1 innings of work. Coach Mike Bianco will call on the arm of RHP Houston Roth. The Oxford, Mississippi native has a 1-0 record with a 4.50 ERA in 12.0 innings of work. In his last outing against Murray State, he held them scoreless and only allowed one hit after a rocky first inning.
