OPD Arrests Man for Alleged Residential Burglary
Investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested Brandon Burton, 20 of Lambert, Mississippi, for two counts of burglary on Saturday, Feb. 24. OPD received a call of suspicious activity in the area of Thacker Road. They made a stop on a vehicle that was in the area after a caller gave them a vehicle description.
Burton along with other juvenile occupants were identified, and they had several items inside the vehicle with them. At the time, officers did not have any reported burglaries so all were released. Later the next morning, complaints of burglary from that area began to come in. OPD officers were able to identify some of the reported items as being in Burton’s and the juvenile’s possession. OPD was able to conduct interviews and searches where they were able to return some of the stolen items.
Burton was arrested for two burglaries and was given a bond of $20,000.
