Obituary: Funeral Service for "Park" William Taylor Thompson to Be Held March 2
William Taylor “Park” Thompson, 35, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at his home in Oxford, following a lengthy illness with leukemia.
The graveside service will be held Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at Oxford Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Gail Stratton officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the cemetery. Following the graveside service, family and close friends will gather for a celebration of Park’s life. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Park was born in Oxford, on Aug. 29, 1982. He enjoyed his job as the daytime kitchen manager at Ajax Diner. Owner Randy Yates and everyone who worked at the diner were his extended family. He graduated Oxford High School and studied hospitality management at Ole Miss.
Survivors include his mother, Anne Whitehead Thompson of Oxford and brother, Jacob Thompson and his wife, Rachel of Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Park’s memory may be made to the Park Thompson Memorial Fund, Oxford-University Bank, 1500 University Ave., Oxford, Mississippi 38655.
