Chick-fil-A Hosts Comedians for Couples Date Night Friday

According to Chick-fil-A Operator Lance Reed, relationships are not always easy but deserve a good laugh once in a while.

Chick-fil-A is hosting comedians Paul Harris and Steve Geyer Friday night at the Gertrude C. Ford Center to allow couples to relax, laugh and enjoy each other’s company.
“We want to create a night that hopefully strengthens the relationship you are in,” Reed said. “It is a time to come together and be able to laugh together and have fun.”
Reed believes relationships are hard in today’s age, so he wanted to create an event that would encourage those relationships.
“Let’s be honest, marriage, in particular, is really, really difficult,” Reed said. “How do we come alongside and encourage those in relationships, be it married, engaged or dating?”
The event also provides a couples check-up survey. Each individual answers a few questions regarding the relationship.
“Couples can go on and take the survey and get an evaluation where their relationship stands,” Marketing Director Lea Fyfe said.
The survey provides feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the relationship.
“It helps to give you a barometer on how you are doing,” Reed said. “What are some gaps and things you need to work on?”
Reed believes that relationships sometimes like to put on a facade that everything is fine.
“When you peel it [a relationship] back, it’s not always easy,” Reed said. “It’s good to be honest and transparent.”
This is an event for the entire community for anyone that is in a relationship, no matter what the status of it may be, Fyfe added.
“Lance is very community focused and really wants to bring the community together,” Fyfe said. “That’s really where his heart is.”
Fyfe added that with Chick-fil-A, Reed strives to provide enriching events for families and couples to build the core of the community.
Tickets are still available online at https://fordcenter.org/event/oxford-date-night/. The comedy act will start at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
