Obituary: Funeral Service for Colonel Rabon Gullick to Be Held March 2
Colonel Rabon Gullick, Jr., 84, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, at his home in Oxford.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Mississippi. The visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, from 4-7 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in Bruce, Mississippi, to the late Colonel Rabon and Irene Bratton Gullick, Mr. Gullick was a member of North Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford. He retired from Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind. Rabon volunteered at Baptist Memorial Hospital and at The Pantry, both in Oxford. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Gullick Land.
Mr. Gullick is survived by his wife, Jo Gullick of Oxford; daughter, Gay Gullick Kahane and her husband, Peter of Franklin, Tennessee; sister, Lillie Bea Newsome of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Sara Emma Irene Pauline Kahane of Franklin, Tennessee and Leslie Ray Land of Hernando, Mississippi; and son-in-law, Wayne Land of Batesville, Mississippi.
In honor of Mr. Gullick’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Army will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
