Dallas Woolfolk Named to Preseason All-SEC Baseball Team
With the Ole Miss baseball team ready to start the 2018 season at OU Stadium/Swayze Field in just one week, junior Dallas Woolfolk continues to earn preseason accolades, getting tabbed to the Preseason All-SEC team by the conference office.
The conference also released the 2018 Preseason Poll, and the diamond Rebels found themselves seated at third in the Western Division while receiving one first-place vote.
Woolfolk, a righty closer, has already been named a Preseason All-American by four different outlets—NCBWA, Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and D1 Baseball.
Woolfolk claimed the closer position as a sophomore by finishing one save shy of the school’s single-season record of 13. He made the walk from the bullpen to the mound 26 times, struck out 41 batters and held opposing hitters to a .200 clip in 37.2 innings of work.
Following his dominant 2017 year, Woolfolk was selected to the Team USA Collegiate National Team, where he recorded a 0.87 ERA in 10 appearances, including the final inning in the 41st USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series.
First pitch for the 2018 campaign is set for 4 p.m., Feb. 16, to start a three-game series against Winthrop.
