As opening day for the Ole Miss Rebels baseball team draws near, preseason accolades continue to keep rolling in for junior closer Dallas Woolfolk. Monday, he received his fourth Preseason All-America nod of the year, this time from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The distinction from the NCBWA joins a slew of other honors Woolfolk has accumulated throughout the preseason, including All-American status from Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America and D1 Baseball.
In his sophomore campaign in 2017, he grabbed the position of closer where he finished one of the school’s single-season saves record with 12. Woolfolk climbed the mound 26 times last season, all out of the bullpen, with a 2.15 ERA with a 3-2 record. He held opposing batters to a .200 clip striking out 41 in 37.2 innings.
Woolfolk spent the summer of 2017 with Team USA Collegiate National Team, where he made 10 appearances with a 0.87 ERA.
Coming into the 2018 season, Woolfolk is already tied for sixth on the Rebels’ all-time save list, and with each outing, he will look to continue to rise up the list.
Ole Miss will open the 2018 season on Friday, Feb. 16-18 against Winthrop in a three-game series tilt.
