Alarms, DUI's, and More in Today's Crime Report

Oxford police responded to the following calls: Nine alarms, two ambulance assist, animal complaint, four careless driving, two civil matters, nine disturbances, four domestic disturbances, three improper parking, two larceny, three lost property, two malicious mischief, three motorist assist, two property damage, shoplifting, simple assault, 12 suspicious activity, suspicious vehicle, trespassing, welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated  12 accident, 51 tickets and made the following arrests:

two DUI 1st, Careless Driving
DUI 1st
DUI 1st, speeding
DUI 1st, No headlights
DUI 2nd, careless driving
Possession of Marijuana, Careless driving
Public drunk
shoplifting, trespass, Possession of Drug paraphernalia
two warrant served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents:

Oxford Fire Department:
1/19 – 07:41 – Tri Delta House – sprinkler company still working on the sprinkler system
1/19 – 13:14 – 319 North Lamar (Pita Pit and above) – water flow alarm malfunction
1/19 – 13:58 –  502 Fraternity Dr. – call canceled
1/20 – 10:05 – St. Anthony’s Hall – general alarm malfunction
1/20 – 23:30 – The Links Bldg. 27 Apt. 2 – smoke detector beeping – low battery
1/21 – 17:14 – North Lamar & Molly Barr – Toyota Corolla fire fully involved – FD extinguished the fire
1/21 – 21:32 – 232 Karen Drive – stove was smoking, resident unplugged the store so it was not smoking when FD arrived
1/22 – 00:08 – Hefley Hall – 3rd-floor stairwell – fire pump came on causing the drain to overflow and activate the water flow alarm
