D.K. Metcalf Adopts a Puppy from OLHS
Ole Miss sophomore wide receiver D.K. Metcalf gave a rescued dog named Dorothy a new home on Tuesday.
Metcalf first saw Dorothy, a two-month-old pit bull mix, on the Snapchat account of an Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society (OLHS) worker and submitted an application for her. He later went to the shelter to see if there was any other puppy he wanted, but his heart was set on Dorothy.
After the adoption, Metcalf renamed her Adaley Jae and created an Instagram handle for her (@adaleyjae for anyone who might want to follow her).
While at the shelter, employees asked him questions about being on the Ole Miss football team, and they said he asked questions about becoming a volunteer.
The OLHS snapped a picture of Metcalf and Adaley Jae and texted it to him. Metcalf replied with, “Thank Y’all. Y’all are very amazing people.” The picture also appeared on OLHS’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Ole Miss Football’s Twitter account also congratulated him on the new puppy.

Adaley Jae came into the shelter with her little sister, Jo, who is set to be adopted tomorrow.
