Obituary: Celebrating the Life of Margaret Elizabeth Harlacher
Margaret Elizabeth Harlacher, 101, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, OH.
Born in Dewart, PA, to the late Henry High and Margaret Helen Springer Nicely, Mrs. Harlacher was a retired homemaker and telephone operator. She formerly lived in Ironton, OH, and moved to Oxford to live with her daughter, Helen Milhouse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ironton, OH, for over 60 years. Mrs. Harlacher enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading and traveling with her husband before his death in 1992. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Alton Harlacher and daughter, Jean Gerken.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Helen Milhouse of Oxford, MS, Linda Harlacher of Callaway, FL, and Susan Jeter of Chillicothe, OH; four grandchildren, Robert Weaver of Callaway, FL, Dean Gerken of Bridgeport, WV, Ryan Jeter of Chillicothe, OH and Amy McNaughton of Waverly, OH and three great-grandchildren, Jessica Weaver, Ally McNaughton and Taryn McNaughton.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Harlacher’s memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 201 North 5th Street, Ironton, Ohio 45638.
