Coming off of an incredible postseason run in 2017 that included capturing the SEC Tournament Championship and advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals, the Rebels return six positional starters as well as all five pitchers from a season ago. Ole Miss welcomes 10 newcomers to the 2018 squad as the Rebels look to continue their upward trajectory.
Three 2017 All-SEC selections highlight the Ole Miss roster in junior outfielder Kylan Becker as well as pitchers Kaitlin Lee and Morgan Bruce. Becker became the first player in program history to garner first team all-conference honors, while Lee added second-team laurels to her SEC Tournament MVP nod and Bruce was named to the all-freshman team.
Additionally, Ole Miss will have lightning-quick slapper Elantra Cox back for her senior season. Despite failing to find a home on the All-SEC team, Cox received NFCA First Team All-Region honors in 2017 after tallying a school-record 93 hits, nearly 20 more than the previous high mark.
The Rebels kick off the 2018 season Feb. 9-11 at the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Alabama, one of four tournaments to begin the campaign for Ole Miss. Of the Rebels’ 53 regular season games, 28 will be against 12 teams that qualified for the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
