Obituary: Funeral Service for Ruthie Britt Peerey to be Held Jan. 6
Ruthie Britt Peerey, 99, passed away Thursday, January 4, at Sunshine Nursing Home in Pontotoc.
The funeral service will be Saturday, January 6, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hunter and Rev. Rickey Camp officiating. Burial will follow in South Oxford United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Calhoun County to the late Whit G. and Sarah Betty Vaughn Britt, Mrs. Peerey was a member of Springhill Methodist Church, located south of Toccopola. In her younger days, she enjoyed sewing and reading as well as group activities, gardening and working with her flowers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Webb Brown, and her second husband, James J. Peerey.
Her survivors include her niece, Wilma Jean Britt of Pontotoc; great-nephews, Mike Britt, Joey Britt, and Eugene Britt and his wife, Glenda, all of Pontotoc; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
