The Ole Miss men’s basketball team couldn’t find success on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs, falling 71-60 in their second SEC battle.

Ole Miss (8-6, 1-1 SEC) took an early lead in tonight’s contest, but Georgia (10-3, 1-1 SEC) soon found its rhythm.

Georgia went on a 13-3 run midway through the first half to take a 17-11 lead.

Ole Miss sophomore Breein Tyree led the way in scoring for the Rebels with 17 points and 3 rebounds. His teammate, Devonate Shuler, added 11 points of his own.

Behind the play of Tyree, the Rebels did go on a 9-0 run to tie the game at 26 at the 3:45 mark. But by the break, Ole Miss trailed Georgia 39-31.

Once the two teams returned to the floor, Georgia continued to expand on its lead behind the play of Juwan Parker with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Yante Maten with 15 points.

The Bulldogs found huge success from the free-throw line, connecting on 16 of 22 attempts. Ole Miss went to the line only 6 times and hit 4 shots. Georgia shot 42.1 percent from the field and held the Rebels to 35.7 percent in the game.

Ole Miss will return home on Saturday as they play host to the Mississippi State Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m.
