Oxford police responded to the following calls: Two 911 hang ups, 27 alarms, three ambulance assist, six animal complaints, auto theft, seven careless driving, four civil matters code enforcement, three disturbing the peace, six domestic disturbance, four fire department assist, K9 search, two noise violations, phone harassment, public drunk, shoplifting, 11 suspicious activity, suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, two trespassing, seven welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated seven accident, 42 tickets and made the following arrest:

DUI 1st, No headlights
DUI 1st, Possession of schedule 2 drug, Possession of schedule 4 drug, Possession of Paraphernalia, Expired Tag, Careless driving, No Seatbelt
DUI 1st, Speeding
Four Public drunks
Shoplifting, Possession of Schedule 1 Drug with Intent, Possession of schedule 2 drug x2, Possession of stolen firearm
Simple assault
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Three accidents, aggravated assault, three simple assault, 13 alarms, animal complaints, two residential burglaries, four disturbances, domestic violence, petit larceny, three malicious mischief, 14 service calls, 12 suspicious activities, four welfare concerns, five information, follow up, five reckless driving, civil matter.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made five arrests
Possession of paraphernalia
kidnapping, domestic violence, simple assault
aggravated domestic assault
Possession of controlled substance warrant

12/29 – 18:15 – 1406 Highpointe Condos – smoke detectors were beeping – they were malfunctioning
12/29 – 18:50 – 3903 Eagle Cove – call canceled
12/30 – 15:00 – CB Webb Bldg. 948 apt. 3 – subject with trouble breathing – assisted EMS in carrying a patient to the ambulance
12/30 – 15:27 – The Chancellor House hotel – Room 310A smoke detector malfunction
12/30 – 21:57 – Lafayette Place Apt. 1309 B – smell of smoke – coffee maker shorted out
12/31 – 10:24 – Buildings and Grounds building on fire – extinguished the fire
12/31 – 11:36 – Oxford Conference Center – smell of gas – nothing found
12/31 – 12:31 – 1931 West Jackson Ave. – car fire – extinguished the fire
01/01 – 09:06 – Faser Hall – water flow alarm malfunction
01/01 – 13:45 – Tri-Delta house – water flow low-pressure alarm
01/01 – 17:10 – 309 Fazio Drive – grass fire started by fireworks – out upon arrival
01/01 – 20:05 – Residential Housing 3 room #217 – burned bacon activated the smoke detector
01/01 – 19:05 – Tri Delta house – water flow alarm because a sprinkler head activated
01/01 – 19:54 – The Lyric – a sprinkler head activated
