Abbeville Man Arrested for Allegedly Carrying A Concealed Weapon at NMRC

Oxford Police Department officers arrested a man for allegedly carrying a concealed handgun outside the North Mississippi Regional Center (NMRC) today.

At about 9:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a male with a gun at NMRC. When they arrived, they located Tashan Keller, 24, of Abbeville, walking around one of the buildings.

When officers spoke with Keller, OPD says they found he had a concealed handgun tucked inside his waistband. A background check determined he was a convicted felon with a previous drug sale charge.

Keller was placed in custody and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $25,000.

OPD emphasized that no one was injured during the arrest, and no shots were fired.
