Public Drunk, Scam, and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang ups, eight alarms, three auto burglary, seven careless driving, two civil matters, two disturbing the peace, three domestic disturbances, improper parking, two lost property, two noise violations, petit larceny, public drunk, scam, eight suspicious activity, nine suspicious persons, trespassing, four welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 15 accident, 24 tickets and made the following arrest:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Four accidents, aggravated assaults, seven alarms, three animal complaints, commercial burglary, six auto burglaries, 11 disturbances, three petit larceny, three juvenile complaint, malicious mischief, 22 service calls, nine suspicious activities/ persons, six welfare concerns, four transports, two information, two follow-ups, unauthorized use of vehicle, two traffic complaints, four reckless driving, five civil matter.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made eight arrests
commercial burglary
warrant for sexual battery
simple assault on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct resisting arrest
Two no driver’s license
possession of paraphernalia
possession of a concealed weapon
warrant for false pretense
Oxford Fire Department:
12/15 – 12:34 – 174 Garden Terrace – possible heart attack – assessed patient and stood by for EMS
12/15 – 16:54 – Subway University Ave. – possible heart attack – FD had to force restroom door open so EMS could get patient out
12/15 – 21:57 – Hwy 6 / South Lamar – wreck – no entrapment
12/16 – 19:16 – Hwy 6 West / Wells Gate area – wreck – no entrapment – helped EMS and wings loading patient
12/16 – 18:51 – Oxford Health and Rehab – smell of smoke – wire loose on a light ballast
12/17 – 19:44 – Sonic – possible heart attack – checked patient vitals and stood by for EMS
