Snubbing Dan Mullen, Matt Corral Flips Commitment to Ole Miss

Just as former Mississippi State Head Coach Dan Mullen takes the reins at Florida, 4-star quarterback Matt Corral has flipped his commitment from the Gators to Ole Miss.
Corral last night tweeted out a photo of himself in an Ole Miss jersey along with a link to an article on 247sports.com about his change of heart.
Corral, who lives in Long Beach, Calif., traveled to Ole Miss and met with Head Coach Matt Luke and his staff Friday, Dec. 8. He told 247sports that he saw Luke as a “family-oriented guy” and added, “I figured I wouldn’t miss a beat if I went there from California. It’s like home.”
He told 247Sports.com that Ole Miss’ high-powered passing offense “will help me show off my talents on the biggest stage. Plus, and to top it all off, this is the SEC West.”
At 6’2 and 196 pounds, Corral is a U.S. Army All-American who threw for more than 10,000 yards and 100 touchdowns in his high school career. 247sports.com ranked him as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback and No. 60 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class. As a senior at Long Beach Poly High School, he passed for 2,495 yard and 29 touchdowns.

Corral tweeted out a photo of his in-house visit with Florida Head Coach Dan Mullen and the Gators’ quarterbacks coach, Brian Johnson, but ended up choosing Ole Miss.

Mullen had his sights set on Corral but did not make the trip to Long Beach to meet with him until Monday, after Corral’s visit to Ole Miss. Some Florida fans have criticized Mullen for taking so long to make the official visit.
