Mariah Carey has the hottest Christmas song of 2017 on iTunes right now with “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” but Wham! Isn’t far behind.
Wait, what now? Wham?
Yep, the 1980s-era dance-pop duo, consisting of an immaculately coiffed George Michael and the comparatively disheveled Andrew Ridgely, came in at No. 5 with 1984’s “Last Christmas,” topping timeless favorites like Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
But none of them can hold a candle to Carey, who belted out her seasonal hit back in 1994, along with a video featuring her ridiculously cute and perky self frolicking in the snow with Santa Claus, opening Christmas gifts and feeding a reindeer.
Traditionalists may not be pleased, meanwhile, to learn that Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” only made it to No. 18 on iTunes’ Top 100 list, while Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas” peaked at 26, just barely outperforming Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe,” which is enough to make anyone blue just thinking about it.
We’re not going to share all 100 songs with you because tracking down all those videos would take, like, forever. Would you settle for the top 10? Because that’s what we’ve got. So kick back, sip a glass of wine, stare at the pretty lights on the tree and enjoy!
