Mississippi State Hires Bob Shoop as Defensive Coordinator
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg reported via Twitter today that Mississippi State will hire Bob Shoop of Tennessee for the role of defensive coordinator.
Shoop has served in that same position at Tennessee for the past two years. He has also coached defenses at Vanderbilt and Penn State and was the head coach for Columbia University from 2003-2005.
Shoop was defensive coordinator at Penn State from 2014-2015 under Head Coach James Franklin, for whom he also coached at Vanderbilt from 2011-2013.
MSU’s new head coach, Joe Moorhead, served as Penn State’s offensive coordinator before being hired to replace Dan Mullen, who took over the head coaching job at Florida.
