Q&A with Coyote Blues' Amanda Sanders: What's in Store for the Holidays
HottyToddy.com’s Steve Vassallo was enjoying Coyote Blues’ Sunday brunch recently when an opportunity was provided to visit with management. Check out this Q&A with Coyote Blues’ General Manager Amanda Sanders.
HottyToddy.com: Your menu is very appealing. What are your more popular dishes?
Coyote Blues: Our 1/2 lb Angus Burger has been our best seller since arriving in Oxford. They are handmade, cooked to order, topped however you like and served on a delicious cheddar jalapeƱo bun. Other guest favorites have been our Shrimp and Grits, Ahi Tuna Tacos and our Shrimp and Crawfish Burrito.
HottyToddy.com: Even though the restaurant in Oxford (located on Merchants Drive) is still relatively new, it seems you have already developed an excellent reputation for outstanding service.
Coyote Blues: We have been extremely fortunate to acquire such a quality staff up front and in the kitchen. Service and product quality are our main priorities. We love to see familiar faces come through our door, and we want our guests to feel the same about the staff here.
HottyToddy.com: Accommodating large groups is another asset of the restaurant.
Coyote Blues: We have plenty of room for big groups on either side of our dining room. The holidays are right around the corner, and we’re a great place to consider for gatherings and parties.
HottyToddy.com: Your exterior dining provides a wonderful alternative to those beautiful days when being outside is refreshing.
Coyote Blues: Our patio is an amazing aspect of our restaurant. We have casual seating along with booths and tables. There are two giant garage doors that open up our restaurant to the patio and provides a nice open air environment. Its a great place to relax and enjoy some of the amazing food and drinks we have to offer. During warmer months, it’s also a good place to host a large group.
HottyToddy.com: Because your food is so superior, it’s easy to overlook the full service bar.
Coyote Blues: That’s a good problem to have! However, we never want guests to forget about our full bar. We have something to quench every type of thirst. We also use fresh ingredients in our cocktails, which makes a huge difference in the taste. Our Happy Hour runs every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and we add Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas on the weekends.
HottyToddy.com: Are there any specials or events planned for the holiday season?
Coyote Blues: Our lunch specials will continue throughout the holidays, so stop in and save a little money while you’re out shopping. They differ every day and can be found on our Facebook page. We will be participating in the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council ornament auction as a tasting table on the Dec. 7. We already have several group reservations for the holidays, and we look forward to even more. We also have gift cards available at the store for the perfect gift. When you buy $50 in gift cards, you get $10 Blues bucks for yourself!
HottyToddy.com: We would be remiss not to mention your delicious dessert menu.
Coyote Blues: Our Godiva White Chocolate Bread Pudding is a crowd-pleaser at all of our locations. We tell guests it is one of the most time-consuming items we make, but the end result is worth every bit of time and effort. It’s topped with a homemade Khalua cream sauce that takes the flavor to a new level of yummy. Our Caramel Apple Empanadas are pretty delicious also.
