Jessica Leverette and Kellie Bosarge are two crafty moms who decided to make some unique rustic jewelry. Their creative works led them to establish their jewelry business – Brown Water Design. That first year, they made a lot of rustic bohemian-style jewelry. Along the way, they began shopping for the latest and greatest beads. While shopping, Jessica and Kelli found amazing iridescent beads that “shimmer like a mermaid’s tail.” Jessica’s daughter convinced her dad to buy her one strand of clear monotone and then she persuaded Kellie to make her a choker. She loved it, but her friends loved it even more! The mermaid craze began at that time. Soon, they began selling mermaids faster than they could make them.
In March 2016, Jessica and Kellie changed the name of their business to The Original Mermaid™ and spun off the entire collection to what you see here. They are quite proud of their brand that all started from one strand of clear moonstone beads.
