OPD Nabs Two Robbery Suspects in Oxford
Officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to the Tobacco Superstore on N. Lamar Blvd for a report of a robbery Nov. 20. Upon officers arrival, they were able to identify the suspects as Crystal Townsend, 28 of Oxford, and Cedric Williams, 33 of Oxford, from the store’s surveillance cameras.
Officers, along with deputies from the Lafayette Co. Sheriff’s Office, received information that Townsend and Williams were in Brittany Apartments. Officers and Deputies responded to Brittany Apartments where Townsend and Williams were taken into custody. They were both transported to the Lafayette Co. Detention Center.
Williams was booked for robbery and possession of cocaine, and Townsend was booked for conspiracy to commit robbery. William’s bond was set at $100,000 and a hold was placed on him for MDOC. Townsend’s bond was set at $60,000.
