The Rebels mounted a late second-half charge against the Utah Utes but came up short on the scoreboard as time ran out, falling 83-74 in the MGM Resorts Main Event.
Ole Miss (3-1) was led in scoring in the game by senior Deandre Burnett, who had 21 points on the night, while his teammates, Terence Davis and Breein Tyree, each added 10.
The Rebels got into striking distance with four minutes remaining and Utah holding a two-point lead. But Utah used its perimeter game to secure the win. Ole Miss had three players in foul trouble, and Marcanvis Hymon fouled out with only two points.
Utah shot 47.3 percent from the field in the game, while Ole Miss was held to a 43.1 shooting percentage.
The Utes were led by Justin Bibbins, who drained 23 points and hit five three-pointers from downtown.
Ole Miss returns to action on Wednesday as they take on Rice out in Las Vegas.
