SEC Matchups: Georgia Takes on Kentucky as Playoff Race Heats Up
A change-up in the playoff race took place last weekend as the SEC had one team fall out of the Top 4 when Auburn defeated Georgia. The Crimson Tide, meanwhile, outlasted Mississippi State and moved back up to No. 1.
The SEC Championship is Dec. 2 in Atlanta, with the Eastern division’s Georgia still waiting to see who they will face from the Western division. That will be decided when Alabama and Auburn clash in the Iron Bowl.
Some teams are taking this week to play their last non-conference games of the season before rivalry week.
Alabama steps out of conference play this week as they host Mercer at 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.
Mississippi State travels up to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks in an early-morning start at 11 a.m. on CBS.
Prior to next’s week’s Iron Bowl, Auburn will hit the gridiron against Louisiana Monroe at 11 a.m.
The afternoon starts with two Eastern division foes meeting Between the Hedges in Athens as Kentucky tangles with the Georgia Bulldogs at 2:30 on CBS.
Florida will try to get back on the winning track as they welcome UAB into the Swamp at 3 p.m. on the SEC Network.
South Carolina plays host to Wafford at 3 p.m. in another SEC Network match-up.
Texas A&M travels to Oxford to face Ole Miss on Senior Night inside the Vaught at 6 p.m. on ESPN 2.
The Bayou Bengals head up to Rocky Top to face the Tennessee Volunteers at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
Missouri travels into the Music City to take on Vanderbilt at 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
