Experience Moe’s BBQ in Oxford: A Southern Soul Food Revival
Moe’s Original BBQ, located at 311 South Lamar Blvd. on the Square, is your one-stop shop for amazing food and drinks in a welcoming, easy-going atmosphere.
“It has a really laid back character,” said Maggie Meyer, front of the house manager. “We want customers to feel like family when they come in to enjoy great food.”
Moe’s serves Southern dishes with recipes that have been passed down for generations and are meant to nourish the soul. The menu is wide enough to satisfy everyone at the table, but specialized enough that each diner knows he or she will enjoy smoky, fall-off-the-bone meat.
Dig into hearty sandwiches, platters, wings, ribs or nachos, and pair them with your favorite Southern side. No matter which dish you choose — chicken, pork, turkey or fish — your tastebuds will thank you.
Not only is the food delicious, but Moe’s drinks are also personal twists to the classics. And there’s more to the restaurant than what first meets the eye — walk downstairs and see for yourself.
“The downstairs bar portion is a really cool, relaxed setting,” said bartender Kyle Kelly. “It’s different from everywhere in Oxford. Everyone needs to come try out the Penny Bar.”
If you don’t have time to dine in or if you’re hosting your own event, Moe’s has a separate catering and take-out menu that can be tailored to fit the needs of each customer.
“We hope Moe’s can be a place where people know they can get good food and can come here for a good time,” said owner Michael Roos.
Moe’s is open every day from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. If you miss those hours, don’t worry — their bar and late night menu lasts until 1 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and until midnight on Saturdays.
