Alarms, Grand Larceny, and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: two alarms, ambulance assist, careless driving, civil matter, disturbing the peace, two fire department assist, K9 search, larceny, three malicious mischief, three motorist assist, noise violation, petit larceny, scam, suspicious activity, theft from a motor vehicle, trespassing, two welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated eight accidents, 24 tickets and made the following arrest:
Possession of Paraphernalia, speeding
Possession of paraphernalia, no driver’s license, noise violation-vehicle
Simple assault
Two warrants served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: two alarms, two auto burglaries, residential burglary, five disturbances, grand larceny, petit larceny, three service calls, two suspicious activities, welfare concern, information, follow up, reckless driving, civil matter, vehicle fire, two recovered stolen vehicles.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made one arrests
Simple assault
Oxford Fire Department:
12:24 – 2307 area of West Jackson – a wreck with one complaint of chest pains – assisted EMS with loading patient and assisted with traffic control until the wrecker arrived
18:51 – 214 Sweet Bay Drive – caller advised of a small fire in the woods – fire is a controlled burned in the county
22:02 – 1400 University Ave. – unauthorized burn – new resident didn’t know there was no burning of brush in the city limits
University Police: Malicious mischief, four vehicle stop, information, no driver’s license, possession of paraphernalia, assist with traffic, hazing, ambulance needed, malicious mischief, accident hit n run.
