DUI's, False Pretense, and More in Today's Crime Report

Oxford police responded to the following calls:  911 hang up, two alarms, careless driving, two disturbing the peace, domestic disturbance, false pretense, three fire department assist, three motorist assist, other agency assist, petit larceny, shoplifting, five suspicious activity, suspicious person, theft from a motor vehicle welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 10 accidents, 22 tickets and made the following arrest:
Two DUI 1st, Wrong way on a one way
Open container
Possession of Paraphernalia, Fake ID, Speeding
Two Public Drunk
Public Drunk, Disturbing the Peace
Two Warrants Served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, three alarms, disturbance, three harassment, seven service calls, two suspicious activities, three welfare complaint, civil matter.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
10:16 – 210 South 5th Street – workers activated a smoke detector
15:08 – 135 Rosemont Loop – resident left something on the stove, the smoke activated a smoke detector
16:22 – Oxford Wheel Estates lot 35 – the smell of smoke – dryer element shorted out melting some plastic causing smoke in the trailer
19:05 – 2307 West Jackson Ave. area – 2 car wreck with injuries call – there were no injuries
19:57 – Courthouse Square – Christmas lights shorting out and arcing
23:21 – Chi Psi House room 203 – smoke detector malfunction
00:51 – 1591 Buchanan Ave. – a smell of smoke call – turning the heat on for the 1st time 
05:15 – The Blake – assisted in lifting a resident
University Police: Three vehicle stops, possession of paraphernalia, motor vehicle accident, assist with traffic, MIP.
