For one half on Saturday, Ole Miss looked like world beaters in front of its home fans. However, it was a different story in the second half for the Rebels, who blew a 24-point lead in dropping a 38-37 game to Arkansas.
Jordan Ta’amu threw for 368 yards, Jordan Wilkins rushed for 118 yards and D.K. Metcalf added 107 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough as the Razorbacks locked down the come-from-behind win with a 34-yard Connor Limpert field goal with 4 seconds remaining.
Afterward, Rebels faithful were beyond fed up with the team’s performance in falling to 3-5 (1-4 SEC) on the year.
Check out what Ole Miss fans are saying about the performance and join the conversation here.
Note: Comments are taken verbatim from Ole Miss Rebels — SEC Country and only edited for spelling.
Bill Lundy: Not acceptable to lose a game like that. Be up 31 to 7 then lose. Haven’t complained gave them support but this is disgusting.
John Breeding: The coaching staff is broken. The players confused. We need to go back to the drawing board pre-Freeze and start the process of rebuilding all over again.
John Porter: Fire them all. Absolutely horrible.
Joe Robinson: Players are not motivated
Donnie Beard: Only ole miss can make an opposing team look better than what they are. Ole miss has got to have the most pitiful defense in college football.
Laura Garrison: Don’t be disappointed……this is the OM way!!!!!
Barry Baker: Worst defense ever! It’s not just bad, it’s absolutely embarrassing. How the hell did we ever win a game this year? Only gonna get worse bc no decent recruit wants anything to do with this pitiful team.
Derrick Baswell: I will NOT watch another game nor support them monetarily until they fire the ENTIRE coaching staff!! GARBAGE!!
Jason Wilson: Lost to them AGAIN! Please hire a coach that can at least beat Arky!
Renee McCraine Taylor: Sad. But then again it’s Ole Miss. Land Sharks flopping in the ground gasping for air.
Jeff Nicholas: When is the university going get rid of these useless coaches.
Travis Vance: Weak defense, three critical turnovers, and a predictable offensive scheme caused yet another loss to Arkansas. To be outscored 31-6 after the 10 minute mark in the second quarter is unacceptable. It is time for new leadership and a competent coaching staff.
Brandon Fletcher: Coach Luke will not be the head coach. Sorry people, I know he was thrown to the wolves when they gave it to them but to be outcoached and sloppy on both sides of the ball is unacceptable.
Nathan Hester: The kids are playing for nothing it makes it become more mental than physical. They will get better in few years. Will always stick by them Hotty Toddy.
