Auto Burglary, Disturbing the Peace and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Four suspicious activity, malicious mischief, disturbing the peace, careless driving, domestic disturbance, fire department assist.
Oxford police investigated 11 accidents, 21 tickets and made the following arrest:
DUI 1st, No Insurance, Fake ID
DUI 1st, MIP, One Headlight, Possession of Paraphernalia
Possession of Paraphernalia, No Driver’s License, Failure to Dim Headlights
Possession of Paraphernalia, Careless Driving
Warrant served for public drunk and domestic violence
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Three accidents, simple assault, auto burglary, disturbance, two juvenile complaints, two service calls, two suspicious activities, scam, transport, two information, reckless driving, road obstruction, forgery.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
06:41 – Hwy 6 west of Chucky Mullins – call came in as a car fire – there was no car on fire
19:03 – Sigma Chi house – smoke detector activated by a smoke machine
22:21 – Hermitage Gardens – there was no audible alarm and no alarm activation
23:29 – Newk’s University Ave. – smoke detector malfunction
02:17 – Hwy. 6 West at Tommie Collie Rd. – wreck with extrication – call canceled
University Police: Vehicle stop, accident property damage, hit n run, credit card fraud, petit larceny, assist with traffic, welfare concern.
