OMS Theatre Season Production Showcases Budding Thespians in Action
Oxford Middle School (OMS) Theatre presents their annual play “And Then There Was One, A Spoof” as well as “And Then There Was One, Too” by Michael Druce, which runs Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Thursday, Oct. 26 with a 7 p.m. performance time each night.
The season production will take place in the Kayla Sue Mize Auditorium on the Oxford Middle School campus, 222 Bramlett Boulevard, Oxford. General admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or at the Oxford Middle School Store during school hours.
The parody of the famous Agatha Christie mystery is all comedy filled with hilarious sight gags and dialogue. Ten people are brought together by a mysterious invitation to the Reef Mansion on a tiny, isolated island. None of them know the host, who is nowhere to be found but has left an ominous voice recording that bodes evil for the guests as they start to disappear one at a time. The production will have the audience wondering if anyone will make it off the island alive.
OMS Theatre teacher Debra Anderson said, “All will be impressed by the caliber of performance from these seventh and eighth-grade students: Everett Heuer, Grace Anne Barton, Xavier Valdez, Chloe Sharp, Noah Amidon, Olivia Boothe, Jacob Latil, Carolina Cassisa, Miles Caradine and Emory Barrios. Students Caroline Gough and Julia Hardy are serving as stage managers and will run lights and sound. Stage crew are Swayzie Crawley, Grant Robinson, Brooklyn Sanders, Max Griffith and Claire Anne Boudreaux.”
The play is produced with special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Denver, Colorado.
