Oxford’s Southern Craft Stove and Tap opened Wednesday, Oct. 18, and is already off to a booming start.
The restaurant, located at 705 Sisk Avenue, has been in the works for about two years and has finally broken ground in a perfect spot for Oxford families to relax and enjoy a delicious bite to eat.
From fire-roasted pizzas to seafood and steaks, Southern Craft’s menu has a little bit of everything.
General manager Bubba Gross said, “The owner, Griffin Tanner, and I wanted to design a place where kids could come to play while parents enjoy a nice glass of wine as they unwind from their long day.”
Gross explained that his family struggles to find a happy medium between himself, his wife and his kids’ food interests. Southern Craft’s contemporary atmosphere and eclectic food selection creates the perfect solution.
With a fenced-in outdoor area filled with a ping-pong table, corn hole and more, this restaurant gives younglings the perfect opportunity to run off some energy while the adults enjoy a break from the kitchen. The open patio, decorated dining area and full-service bar makes for a unique and calming atmosphere fit for all ages.
And as the crowd starts to grow, so will the restaurant. According to Gross, Southern Craft will soon have an outdoor fire pit, an indoor pool table as well as a private dining area for the community to treat themselves to a night out.
From the unique atmosphere to the broad selection of food and drinks, the Oxford Commons community just may have a new hot spot in town.
