Disturbing the Peace, Suspicious Activity and More in Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang up, two alarms, animal complaint, three careless driving, two disturbing the peace, fire department assist, two K9 searches, lost property, malicious mischief, motorist assist, other agency assist, petit larceny, eight suspicious activity, three suspicious persons, suspicious vehicle, utility call out.
Oxford police investigated six accidents, 20 tickets and made the following arrest:
DUI 1st, No headlights
DUI 2nd, Suspended License (Implied Consent), No insurance, failure to yield blue lights, improper equipment

Possession of Marijuana with Intent, Ran stop sign, expired license
2 Possession of paraphernalia
Public drunk, disturbing the peace
Public drunk, Petit larceny
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Three accidents, seven alarms, animal complaint, four disturbances, petit larceny, 15 service calls, two suspicious activities, welfare concern, three transport, trespassing, three follow up, traffic complaints, three reckless driving, littering / dumping, civil matter, natural cause of death.
Monday’s: four accidents, nine alarms, three animal complaints, residential burglary, five disturbance, domestic violence, grand larceny, petit larceny, seven harassment, two service calls, four suspicious activities, two vandalism, three welfare concerns, two transports, follow up, two traffic complaints, four fraud, two reckless driving, three civil matters.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made two arrests
burglary of commercial building warrant
disorderly conduct, possession of paraphernalia
Oxford Fire Department:
08:17 – Newk’s University Ave. – cleaning the grill activated a smoke detector
12:45 – 128 Oxford Creek Road – resident accidentally activated the fire alarm
14:07 – Hwy. 6 & Coliseum Drive – wreck – washed the fluids off the highway
20:51 – 420 area of Hwy. 6 West – car fire – out before FD arrived
University Police: Four vehicle stop, ambulance needed, assist with traffic, disturbance.
