Animal Complaint, Suspicious Person and More in Today's Crime Report

Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang up, three alarms, ambulance assist, animal complaint, careless driving, two disturbing the peace, improper parking, K9 search, malicious mischief, two motor assist, no building permit, other agency assist, petit larceny, two scams, shoplifting, simple assault, four suspicious activity, three, suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, four welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated six accidents, 14 tickets and made the following arrest:
No driver’s license, No insurance
Open container
two possession of paraphernalia
possession of paraphernalia, one headlight
Public Drunk
Public drunk, fake ID
Warrant served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Accident, simple assault, alarm, animal complaint, residential burglary, five disturbances, petit larceny, 19 service calls, suspicious activity, welfare concern, scam, trespassing, follow up, possible vulnerable adult abuse.
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
10:15 – 301 Washington Ave. Ext. – dust activated a smoke detector
12:13 – University Ave. & South 15th Street – broken hydrant – cut the water off to hydrant until water dept. can repair it
15:28 – 2020 University Ave. parking lot – subject passed out – stood by for EMS (not for publication: EMS said he was a regular)
18:57 – Townhouse Suites by Marriott room #308 – shower steam activated the smoke detector
20:03 – Molly Barr & West Jackson – 10-50 no injuries victim refused EMS transport
21:15 – 502 Marion Cove – resident locked out of house requested FD to break door
22:02 – 3350 Whippoorwill Lane – possible stroke – provided first aid until EMS arrived
00:28 – 315 Williams Ave. – 49 year old male with chest pains – EMS refusal; at 01:52 – he called EMS again and they transported him
University Police: Computer crime, information, malicious mischief, vehicle stop, careless driving, accident property damage.
