DUI's, Welfare Concerns And More In This Weekends Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Three 911 hang ups, abandon vehicle, 13 alarms, six ambulance assist three animal complaint, 14 careless driving, two civil matters, credit card fraud, 10 disturbing the peace, two domestic disturbances, fire department assist, improper parking, four lost property, two malicious mischief, four motorist assist, four noise violations, pedestrian hit and run, two petit larceny, public drunk, shoplifting, simple assault, 10 suspicious activity, six suspicious persons, suspicious vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle, 11 welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 21 accidents, 61 tickets and made the following arrest:

1 Simple Assault, Malicious Mischief
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, five alarms, four animal complaints, five auto burglaries, eight disturbances, domestic violence, two grand larceny, two petit larceny, harassment, three juvenile complaints, 10 service calls, seven suspicious activities, five welfare concerns, three transports, trespassing, four information, follow-up, four traffic complaints, two reckless driving, littering dumping, five civil matters, natural cause death, house fire assistance.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made four arrests
1 trespassing and disturbance of a business
2 domestic violence, simple assault
1 no driver’s license, no insurance, DUI 1st
Oxford Fire Department:
9/22 – 12:57 – Bus Stop Molly Barr Road across from Rockets store – subject passed out from alcohol – monitored until EMS arrived
9/22 – 15:56 – 5 Industrial Road – Bottle Gas room smoke detector malfunction
9/23 – 07:34 – 704 Mogridge Lane – stove eye left on without the pilot light lit made the gas leak into residence
9/23 – 10:49 – Canterbury Crest Apt 112 – a dish cloth in the oven caught fire
9/23 – 13:20 – The Blake – burned food in a microwave
9/23 – 13:34 – The Domain #3104 – hot hair dryer activated the smoke detector
9/23 – 18:25 – Oxford Health & Rehab – burned food in microwave
9/24 – 19:43 – The Round Table – disgruntled female pulled the fire alarm when she was asked to leave
9/24 – 19:53 – Townhouse Suites by Marriott room #417 – cooking activated the smoke detector
9/25 – 00:10 – Old Taylor Place apt. F8 – subject throwing up fell down with chest pains – helped EMS load patient
University Police: Intoxicated person, ambulance needed, information, public drunk, fake id, three vehicle stop.
