The Ole Miss women’s basketball team will play seven nationally televised games in Southeastern Conference play, while the remainder of the Rebels’ contests will air on SEC Network +, the league office announced Wednesday with the release of its 2017-18 television slate.
The Rebels will be featured on SEC Network six times, and ESPNU will cover Mississippi State’s trip to The Pavilion at Ole Miss on January 28 at 1 p.m. That contest, as well as all SEC Network and SEC Network + games, will be available through the ESPN app, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
Head coach Matt Insell’s squad opens SEC play on the road with a New Year’s Eve bout against Arkansas at 2 p.m. Next, Ole Miss welcomes the reigning SEC and NCAA Champion, South Carolina, to The Pavilion for a 6 p.m. Thursday night meeting, which will air on SECN+.
Ole Miss will first appear on national television in SEC play on Jan. 11 (8 p.m., SEC Network) when they make the trip to Starkville to take on the Bulldogs.
After a weekend off, the Rebels return home but will stay on SEC Network to host Missouri at 8 p.m. on Jan. 18. A third straight SEC Network contest follows as Ole Miss hits the road to take on Florida at Noon CT. The Rebels remain on the road for a Jan. 25 (6 p.m. CT, SECN+) meeting with Tennessee. Insell’s team will be looking for a second straight win after upsetting the Volunteers in Oxford a year ago.
The following Sunday, Jan. 28, brings the second meeting with MSU at The Pavilion (1 p.m., ESPNU). The Rebels’ next national TV tilt isn’t until late February. On Feb. 19, 22 and 25, Ole Miss will appear on the SEC Network for home games against Georgia (6 p.m.) and Kentucky (7:30 p.m.) and a trip to Auburn (1 p.m.) to close out the regular season.
The league office also announced the schedule for the 2018 SEC Tournament, which will run from Feb. 28 through March 4 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The championship game will air on ESPN2, and the semifinals can be viewed on ESPNU, with the rest of the tournament carried on SEC Network.
Ole Miss opens its non-conference schedule with back-to-back home games against Northwestern State and Kennesaw State on Nov. 10 and 13. Non-conference TV designations will be announced at a later date. All non-televised home games will be aired on SECN+.
Season tickets for Ole Miss Hoops are available today by going to OleMissTix.com or calling the Ole Miss Ticket Office at 1-888-REB-TKTS (732-8587).
