Is Your Child In The Right Car Seat?
As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, Oxford Police Department announced that Saturday, September 23, 2017, beginning at 8 a.m. until noon, certified Child Passenger Safety technicians will be available for free car seat inspections and proper installations. National Seat Check Saturday will consist of educational instructions on how to use car seats properly and choosing the appropriate car seat for children.
Oxford Police Department has partnered with Safe Kids to promote the importance of child safety in cars. Car crashes are a leading cause of death among children ages 1 to 13. Many times injuries and death can be prevented by proper installation and use of car seats, booster seats, and seatbelts.
National Seat Check Saturday will be held outside of Oxford Police Department at 715 Molly Barr Rd. Parents and caregivers will receive important information and guides to installing car seats to keep children safe. Technicians will also remind caregivers about the importance of registering car seats and booster seats with the manufacturers in the event of a recall.
