DUI's, Larceny And More In This Weekends Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Two 911 hang ups, 15 alarms, four ambulance assist, four animal complaints, four careless driving, six civil matters, disorderly conduct, 17 disturbing the peace, domestic disturbance, three Fire department assist, two grand larceny, six improper parking, five lost property, three malicious mischief, three motorist assist, seven noise violations, two other agency assist, seven petit larceny, two public drunk, two recovered property, shoplifting, five simple assaults, 12 suspicious activity, 10 suspicious persons, six suspicious vehicles, three theft from a motor vehicle, utility call out, 13 welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 24 accidents, 87 tickets and made the following arrest:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Six accidents, seven alarms, seven animal complaints, five disturbances, grand larceny, two petit larceny, two harassments, two juvenile complaints, 31 service calls, seven suspicious activities, three welfare concerns, two transports, two trespassing, four follow ups, traffic complaints, reckless driving, four civil matters, forgery.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made one arrests
DUI, No driver’s license, no seatbelt
Oxford Fire Department:
9/8 – 12:29 – 100 Clubview – construction workers heard a loud boom – the electrical box on the outside of the house was smoking
9/8 – 14:48 – Hwy. 7 around Sisk Ave – extinguished a small fire in the median
9/8 – 21:28 – Behind the University Library – a lamp by the fountain was smoking – contacted University Power to cut power to that light
9/8 – 22:36 – Phi Kappa Psi house – someone pulled the fire alarm as a prank
9/9 – 01:57 – Stockard Hall – smoking in room 605 activated the smoke detector
9/9 – 06:52 – 314 Bramlett – smoke detector activation in a bedroom due to leaving a candle burning all night
9/9 – 08:33 – 125 Price Street – smell of gas – there was a slight smell of gas in residence but found no leak anywhere
9/9 – 15:07 – Hwy. 6 around Coliseum Dr. – 3 car wreck – washed debris off of the highway
9/9 – 20:14 – 41 Rubin Dr. apt. 1 – stove fire – the eye on the stove would not cut off – FD unplugged and ventilated the apt.
9/9 – 21:04 – Hwy. 7 & 9 split – wreck with entrapment
9/9 – 22:51 – Minor Hall – someone pull the fire alarm in the cafeteria
9/10 – 06:02 – Hinton & Hinton – sitting room smoke detector malfunction
9/10 – 09:16 – 803 University Ave. – call was cancelled
University Police: Vehicle stops, accident property damage, motor vehicle accident, intoxicated person, public drunk, other forms of harassment, trespass, fake id, vandalism, weapon on school property, information, seatbelt, disorderly conduct, petit larceny, ambulance needed.
