Shoplifting, Trespassing And More In Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 hang up, eight alarms, ambulance assist, three disturbing the peace, two fire department, harassing phone calls, improper parking, lost property, malicious mischief, three motorist assist, noise violation, petit larceny, scam, shoplifting suspicious activity, two suspicious person, trespassing, three utility call out.
Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 10 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
DUI 1st, careless driving
DUI 1st, No headlights, possession of paraphernalia
DUI 2nd, No insurance, suspended license, no tag
Public drunk
Shoplifting
Warrant served
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Two accidents, three alarms, two disturbances, grand larceny, petit larceny, harassment, juvenile complaint, 22 service calls, two suspicious activities, three traffic complaints, four civil matters, structure fire.

Oxford Fire Department:
Workers sanding sheet rock activated a smoke detector at 801 South 16th Street.
Water leaking into a smoke detector at Jackson Avenue Center.
Heat detector activation in the elevator pit —the elevator pit was flooding at Hefley Hall.
Resident burned food at 1036 Augusta Drive.
Wreck with injury —put patient in C-collar then assisted Care Med with loading patient at Jackson West and Anderson Road.
Provided mutual aid to county fire dept. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church.
Multiple smoke detector activations due to discharging fire extinguishers as a prank at the Sigma Nu house.
University Police: Three vehicle stops, motor vehicle accident, public drunks, suspicious vehicle, suspicious person, willful trespassing, wrecker, vandalism to a vehicle, assist with traffic.
