Three Rebel Soccer Matches Slated For National TV
Ole Miss soccer will be featured three times on national TV this fall, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday in its release of the SEC Network broadcast schedule.
All three nationally televised matches come on the road as the Rebels will take on Florida, Arkansas and Mississippi State in front of a national audience.
Ole Miss kicks off SEC play Thursday, Sept. 14 in Gainesville, Florida on SEC Network at 6 p.m. CT as part of the weekend road trip that also includes a non-conference matchup at Stetson. Ten days later (Sept. 24), the Rebels visit Fayetteville, Arkansas for a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Razorbacks.
The final TV game of the regular season comes in Starkville on Sunday, Oct. 22, which features the annual battle for the Magnolia Cup. The Rebels have maintained possession of the Cup since 2013 with three-straight wins in the rivalry series (no game in 2015).
Ole Miss Soccer National Television Schedule
The 2017 SEC Network schedule is highlighted by the weekly Thursday night matchup, which begins Sept. 14 with Ole Miss at Florida. ESPNU will also air games each Sunday.
All Ole Miss home games will be available online through WatchESPN and the ESPN app as part of the SEC Network + digital streaming platform. Richard Cross (play-by-play) and Ian Banner (analyst) will be back in the broadcast booth to handle the calls.
Ole Miss produced approximately 100 SEC Network + events last year that were streamed on SECNetwork.com and the ESPN app. As a conference, SEC schools broadcast more than 1,000 SEC Network + events annually.
The Rebels take on South Alabama in an exhibition matchup Friday night in Mobile (7 p.m.). The regular season begins at home next Friday, Aug. 18, against Alabama State.
