Watch: Matt Luke And Players Discuss Rebels' Progress After Day Six Of Fall Camp
Ole Miss’ fall camp is well underway, and head coach Matt Luke spoke to the media after practice to talk about the progress his team has made after six days of practice. Luke discussed how his wide receivers are coming along faster than he thought they would’ve, how the Rebels will work to replace Evan Engram at the tight end position, and the depth on the defensive side of the ball.
Luke also mentioned that RB Jordan Wilkins left practice with an ankle injury but did not know the severity of the injury.
After Coach Luke, TE Dawson Knox talked about competing for the starting tight end spot and how he approaching his new role. CB Jaylon Jones discussed the state of the Rebel secondary, and how he is using his experience from last year to hit the ground running in 2017.
Head Coach Matt Luke
“The effort and energy of the staff and the players has been good. I’m excited about how they’re competing right now, flying around, a lot of energy.”
TE Dawson Knox
“You got to come out every day with the mindset that you’re not number one, but you’re fighting for that spot.”
CB Jaylon Jones
We’re hungry to play. With all the stuff that has happened, we’ve got some anger that we’re ready to show the whole world.
