Abandoned Vehicle, DUI And More In This Weekend's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Two 911 hang ups, abandoned vehicle, 14 alarms, three ambulance assist, three careless driving, civil matter, code enforcement two cyber stalking, discharging fireworks in the city limits, six disturbing the peace, three domestic disturbance, embezzlement, two improper parking, four larceny, lost property, malicious mischief, motorist assist, noise violation, one headlight, two scams, simple assault, 14 suspicious activity, four suspicious persons, three suspicious vehicle, trespassing, eight welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 15 wrecks, issued 84 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Three accidents, five alarms, five animal complaints, auto burglary, nine disturbances, two grand larceny, two petit larceny, four harassment, juvenile complaint, malicious mischief, 16 service calls, eight suspicious activities, four welfare concerns, transport, trespassing, three follow up, four reckless driving five civil matters, natural cause of death, littering.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made three arrests
aggravated assault, domestic violence warrant
DUI other, careless driving, child endangerment
no driver’s license, DUI
Oxford Fire Department:
Resident left something on the stove and it smoked the house up at 219 Bramlett Blvd.
Break room smoke detector malfunction at the Overstreet Professional Bldg. at 119 North 9th.
Wreck with no entrapment assisted EMRs with 1st aid until EMS arrived on Old Taylor Road.
Smoke detector malfunction due to water leaking into the detector at 601 Sage Cove.
Smoke detector activation due to smell of electrical wires burning—nothing found at 2630 Thacker Heights Road.
Dryer smoking at the Fernwood Community Home.
People stuck on the elevator at OU Methodist Church.
University Police: Speeding, indecent exposer, moving violation, 16 vehicle stops, public drunk, suspicious person, possession of marijuana with intent, accident property damage, disregard of traffic control device.
