Credit Card Fraud, Careless Driving And More In Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Alarm, two animal complaints, civil matter, credit card fraud, two disturbing the peace, domestic disturbance, elderly assist, fire department assist, motorist assist, other agency assist, petit larceny, four suspicious activity, suspicious person, welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 20 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
Careless driving, DUI 2nd
Careless driving, Expired driver’s license
Minor in possession of Alcohol
No driver’s license
No seatbelt, expired tag, no liability insurance, suspended driver’s license
Speeding, DUI 1st
Warrant served for contempt of court—failure to pay fines
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Accident, two alarms, two animal complaints, auto burglary, three disturbances, grand larceny, petit larceny, harassment, two malicious mischief, 15 service calls, five suspicious activities, scam, transport, follow up, unauthorized use of vehicle, fraud, reckless driving.

Oxford Fire Department:
Underground electrical wire feeding outside light was heating the ground causing it to smoke at Mechanics Bank West Jackson.
Alarm company tech working on alarm system at Oxford High School.
Kitchen smoke detector malfunction at Lucky Day Residential College.
General fire alarm malfunction at Jackson Avenue Center.
University Police: Disturbance, accident property, suspicious vehicle.
