Two Ole Miss Football Players Arrested For Shoplifting
Update: Bing-Dukes and Webster have been suspended for Ole Miss’ first game of the 2017 season according to head coach Matt Luke.
So much of Ole Miss’ offseason has been focused everything except football, and just as the Rebels were about to lace up their cleats and take the field for fall camp, another off-the-field story has hit the headlines. MLB Detric Bing-Dukes and CB Kendarius Webster were arrested for shoplifting on Tuesday.
Head coach of the Rebels Matt Luke released the following statement on the matter.
“We are gathering facts on the matter.”
Webster missed the entire 2016 after suffering a knee injury in the opener against Florida State. Bing-Dukes played in 11 games last season and is expected to compete for the starting MLB spot this season.
Coach Luke will face questions about Webster and Bing-Dukes’ arrest later today at Ole Miss Media Day which begins at 3 p.m. central time. The Rebels open fall camp later today and will begin their season on September 2 against South Alabama.

What a joke, Matt Luke is continuing the the lack of leadership in this football program here. A 1 game suspension teaches then nothing. They should have been removed from the team for stealing, whether it was $1 or $1,000 worth of items. Matt Luke is showing just how involved he was with all the other allegations by not stepping up as a true coach and leader. If one of my employees steal from me, I call the cops and fire them. He should be doing the same.
